As professional service firms evaluate their economics, more pressure is being placed on partners to 'make rain.' I get this kind of call all the time: "I'm skilled, accomplished and respected, but find it difficult to ask for new business. Today, however, my job depends on my bringing in more business."

After 25 years of rainmaking coaching, I've learned that one of the biggest impediments generally is an overriding 'fear of rejection' during the selling process - this is what prevents highly skilled professionals from making rain. It isn't knowing what to do, it's personally doing it.

Rainmaking Coaching Program

Rainmaking coaching is all about overcoming specific personal impediments or obstacles to making rain. It's a four step process that takes place over about three months. We talk in total confidence. After our first conversation and after you've read my two books, Generating Trust - The Genius of Selling Professional Services and Making Rain we'll talk about the book's characters and activities. It's interesting how clients can more easily see their personal obstacles through the lens of a story.

I use two assessment tests, one created as the foundation for my first book, Making Rain and another third party assessment that delivers more information on your rainmaking obstacles. We'll go through the results together while learning more with each conversation.

Once we identify your personal obstacle(s) to making rain, we'll create a personally tailored technique you can easily use to overcome your personal rainmaking impediment. The technique, specific to you, is determined by the nature of your impediments to rainmaking. In reading The Coaching Sessions in Generating Trust you'll watch it happen. There are only a small group of rainmaking obstacles - that once identified, with motivation, can be overcome.
